Had a shot of the NES version last night and, yeah, hardly any flicker despite the nice big main sprite. A lot of stuff has been shrunk down and the NES palette means it looks a touch washed-out but it’s generally an excellent port. Could well chalk this one up as “no bad versions”.

I can’t stand those bouncy plants, though.
