I have the PS2-era Capcom collections and yeah, I noticed that about Capcom… some other arcade games like Irem’s R-Type at least feel like they’re trying to ease you in and that your failures feel like they’re your fault. Capcom’s games on the other hand often feel like a prank you’d play on a friend. Like five minutes into 1943 you’re just bombarded with enemies on all sides.

I honestly find the Ghosts n’ Goblins trilogy to be the most fair though, and I’ve actually come close to beating them legit (the only one I have beaten is the SNES one).
