My point is – you seem very smug about having noticed a single similar game, but there are only a tiny, tiny handful of new games coming out that don’t have literally dozens of predecessors and influences. It’d be cool if gaming journalists did a little competitive research, just as game developers do. It’s quite literally takes 5 minutes of Googling to unearth a hell of a lot of relevant info.

Motherload was fairly original, but the “digging stuff” idea goes back to Dig Dug (or further!).

So the office bet on whether the Steamworld guys would fess up to copying Miner Dig Deep is.. kinda dumb.
